Cuba Open to Business with U.S. Oil Companies

Cuba is open to doing business with U.S. oil companies, said Maria Yodalis Hernandez of the Del Centro Petroleum Drilling and Extraction Company, an affiliate of the state owned Cupet, on Tuesday. She said Cuba lacks resources to fully exploit its oil reserves, which could add up to as many as 20 million barrels. The United States blockade on Cuba prohibits U.S. oil companies from doing business in Cuba. "We hope that now, with this new opening, we will be able to show them that Cuba has oil," she said. "And they know this. They were here before 1959 and explored us completely. Let them come. We’re waiting for them.” teleSUR
