Colombia to Provide Land to Campesinos Who Refrain From Growing Coca

In an effort to combat drug trafficking, Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos announced a program to grant land to coca farmers who for the next five years refrain from growing the crop. Since 2013 cocaine production in Colombia has increased 50%, despite a U.S. backed crackdown. Santos also announced that the cancer-producer herbicide glyphosate would no longer be used to curtail coca production. teleSUR
