It’s been dubbed one of the greatest Grand Slam seasons of all time.

Serbia’s Novak Djokovic didn’t disappoint with a second consecutive victory over Roger Federer in the US Open final.

The world number one broke the Swiss player’s serve six times during the course of the match to power through to a 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 victory at Flushing Meadows.

Difficult start

Rain delayed the New York match by three hours and Federer, with much of the crowd at Flushing Meadows behind him, looked in with a chance of taking the title.

But the 28-year-old Serb held his nerve and turned the tables to fight
through to his 27th win of 28 Grand Slam matches in 2015.
