The MBT or as we call it the Mahindra Battle Tank is now here to blow away its competitors and blast its way through the Indian SUV market. Confused? We are talking about the Mahindra TUV300 which has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs.6.90 lakh.
The TUV300 has been launched in six different variants with the price of the highest variant going up to 9.12 lakhs. The TUV300 will be the first Mahindra SUV to be powered by a home grown engine. The mHawk 80 three-cylinder diesel engine produces a peak power of 85PS and a peak torque of 230Nm. The car will be offered with both manual and AMT transmission. The car has somewhat of a good fuel-efficiency figure of 18.49kmpl.
The design of the TUV300 has been inspired from a battle tank which is quite evident from the car’s squarish shape. Now that it has been launched, the TUV300 would have to battle it out in the Indian market with the likes of Ford EcoSport.
