Group condemns Subra

An MIC group today condemns the move by deputy president hopeful S Subramaniam for allegedly soliciting the support of former premier Mahathir Mohamad.
A news report in the Tamil language daily Makkal Osai said to be controlled by Subramaniam carried a report which quoted the former premier as saying that MIC delegates must vote for Subramaniam in the upcoming September 12 MIC elections.
The group claims that by doing so Subramaniam has "disgraced the party and we want the MIC leadership to take action against him for tarnishing the image of the MIC".
