Philippine journalist and National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP) deputy chairperson, Jose Jaime "Nonoy" Espina was asked by a participant at the Asia Chinese New Media Conference, if media was also to blame for the action of the gunman which resulted in the death of eight of the 15 Hong Kong tourists he had held hostage on a tour bus in Manila.
