Opposition Wins Trinidad & Tobago Elections
  • 9 years ago
The opposition People's National Movement (PNM) and its candidate for primer minister, Keith Rowley, won yesterday's elections in Trinidad and Tobago. The PNM won 23 of the country's 41 constituencies and will now be charged with forming a new government. The ruling People's Partnership party will now become the opposition, having won only 18 seats, down from 29. Disgraced former FIFA executive Jack Warner led the Independent Liberal Party to a staggering defeat, failing to gain a single seat in parliament. teleSUR
