Istanbul: hundreds rally in support of migrants

Protesters have gathered in Istanbul’s Taksim square to criticise Europe’s migrant policies.

Some of them carried banners depicting the image of three-year-old Syrian boy Aylan Kurdi, who was found on a beach near the resort town of Bodrum.

The demonstrators accused European nations and their leaders of turning a blind eye to the deaths of the boy, his brother and mother, as well as those of hundreds of others migrants.

Many people have also been reacting to Aylan’s death on social media.
