Inside the Americas – Media Violence in the U.S.

In the United States, by the time children turn 18 years old, they may have witnessed 200,000 acts of violence and 16,000 simulated murders, according to the Media Education Foundation. More than 60 percent of the content shown in movies, television, and video games is violent. Violence is glorified and seen as a form of entertainment, desensitizing viewers and creating angry moods.
