Ahmedabad: It is not rare to see heritage exploited for commercial gain, as many have sought to capitalize on the historic and cultural value of Ahmedabad's heritage. In the year 2001, there were 12,502 heritage buildings and numbers diminished to 2,696 in 2015 which is a serious cause of concern. This way, as many as 9,806 buildings vanished due to lax attitude of authorities of Ahmedaad Municipal Corporation (AMC). The administration has completely failed to protect heritage of the city.
