Pig's head: Police urged to speed up investigations

No less than 8 police reports were lodged at the Sentul Police Station here in the city today. The reports were made on the pig's head and parts found in a black plastic bag outside the main gate of the Al-Hidayah mosque in Sentul on the morning of February 2nd.

Lodging the reports were PKR member of Parliament for the Batu constituency, Tian Chua, PAS Batu division, youth and women's wings of opposition parties and non-governmental organizations.

The report urged the police to act swiftly and sternly to apprehend the culprits.

Following the police reports, Tian Chua visited the mosque after the congregation had completed their Friday prayers and met with the congregation over the incident.

A similar incident occurred at a mosque in Rawang on Jan 31, where the head was found wrapped in a plastic bag by the mosque committee before dawn prayers.

Police are investigating the case under Section 295 of the Penal Code which deals with desecration of places of worship, No arrests have been made so far.

This is the sixth incident of pig heads being thrown into mosque and surau compounds since 2009.
