Don’t Let Israel Force Feed Palestinian Prisoners: Rights Activists

This week the Israeli Knesset passed a law that allows authorities to force feed Palestinian prisoners on hunger strike. In past years hunger strikes have resulted in the release of many Palestinian prisoners. The Palestinian Center for Human Rights says the new Israeli law essentially legalizes torture and is a “silent killer of the Palestinian prisoners.” Spokespersons call on the international community to go beyond denouncing the law and to take action to stop its implementation.
