Jealous ex-husband shoots monk in Thailand

A man was arrested for shooting the deputy abbot of Wat Ton Fan because his ex-wife made frequent visits to his temple in Chiang Rai, the northernmost province of Thailand. A monk at the temple told investigators that he heard gunshots coming out from the deputy abbot's room. He then witnessed the man walking of the same room afterwards. The man then drove away in his pickup truck. The deputy abbot was severely injured in the body and left leg. Police later arrested the at his home, which is only two kilometers away from the temple.
It was later revealed from his testimony, that man became jealous after finding out that his ex-wife frequently visited the deputy abbot to hear her fortune told. He originally drank alcohol to ease heartbreak but then decided to pay the deputy abbot a visit and shot him.
