A Malaysian man survived a fall from a high-rise flat on Macallum Street Ghaut in Penang. Saw Hoe Joo, 57, was in the eighth-floor unit he shares with his siblings at the time of the fall. Fortunately, the zinc roof of a motorcycle shelter broke his fall, leaving him in a daze.

Residents and passers-by immediately came to Saw Hoe Joo's help when they realized he was still alive, and he was sent to Penang Hospital for treatment to injuries to his hands and face. It is unclear how he fell from the building.
