A plane made an emergency landing with 43 people on board at Los Angeles International Airport on Monday.

The plane, identified as SkyWest Flight 5316, operating as United Express, landed on its belly with some of the landing gear undeployed.

The pilot reported a mechanical problem on approach, said Los Angeles International Airport spokeswoman Katherine Alvarado. The jet was unable to extend its left main landing gear, explained Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor.

There were no reported injuries among the crew or passengers.

Skywest said that mechanics will inspect the airplane to determine what caused the problem.
