A bank officer was shot and killed by a security guard during a bank robbery in the city of Suban Java on Wednesday.

The heist happened in a bank in the USJ Sentral 2 area.

According to reports, at around 6:18 p.m., the security guard accompanied three bank officers to the bank's safe room.

As one of the female officers opened the vault the guard shot her in the head with a shotgun. She died instantly.

After the shooting, he ordered the other two officers to fill a bag with cash, before fleeing the scene on a motorbike.

According to local reports, the suspect, who used a fake identity card to gain employment at the bank, is still at large.

Deputy police chief Deputy Commissioner Datuk Abdul Rahim Jaafar said the guard was meant to be a replacement, and had worked in another bank next to the one robbed, the Malay Mail Online reported.

The 37-year-old victim, identified as Norazita Abu Talib, leaves behind two kids.
