North Korea launched two short-range missiles into the sea off its east coast on Monday (March 3).

According to Yonhap News, one missile was fired from the Gitdaeryeong area and the other from Wonsan. Both were fired in a northeast direction at approximately 6:19 a.m. The missiles were believed to be of the Scud-C type and were reported to have flown more than 500 kilometers.

It was the second such launch in less than a week by North Korea. On February 27, Pyongyang fired four Scud missiles from the same area, which flew about 220 km in a northeast direction, Yonhap News reported.

North Korea reportedly has around 700 Scud-B and Scud-C type missiles, with a range of 300 km and 500 km respectively. It also has Scud-ER missiles with a range of more than 700 km, according to Xinhua News.
