North Korea launches three short-range missiles into the Sea of Japan

North Korea launched three short-range guided missiles off its east coast on Saturday.
According to Reuters, the two missiles were launched in the morning, while the third was launched in the afternoon.
South Korea tracked and monitored the missile movements throughout the launch process. The missiles landed in the Sea of Japan.
A Japanese government source quoted by Kyodo news agency noted the three launches, but said none of the missiles landed in Japan's territorial waters.
According to AFP, the launch was apparently part of a military drill.
Such launches are not an exceptional event, as North Korea routinely test-fires short-range guided missiles to improve target accuracy, Bloomberg reported.
