Joseph Robert Wilcox is being called a hero for giving his life trying to stop Jared and Amanda Miller in the middle of their shooting spree in Las Vegas.
Jared and Amanda Miller had gunned down two police officers in a CiCi's pizza before running into the Wal-Mart across the street. Once inside, Jared fired a shot and started yelling.
Wilcox, who was legally carrying a concealed handgun, told a friend he was going to do something. He walked up behind Jerad, prepared to shoot him, but was unaware that Amanda was with Jerad. She shot him multiple times at close range.
His uncle, John Wilson, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal, "He wasn't political. But he definitely believed in the right to bear arms and the right to defend yourself and others."
