World Cup crime: Brazilian pickpockets target Japanese tourists more often

The world cup began with much enthusiasm June 13, for fans around the world. But for Japanese fans arriving in Brazil to cheer their team in person, many troubles are looming.
For example, on the 10th a Japanese reporter had his backpack snatched with his passport inside. In the following days, other Japanese tourists had their luggage containing money and tickets stolen.
It's prompted the Japanese Embassy to issue an advisory brochure to visitors arriving at the airport.
Don't walk around with cash, or stay out too late at night,
and don't ride in sketchy taxis, are just some of the warnings given. While the areas around the arenas are more secure, other places can be very dodgy and hard to police.
Japanese fans should use common sense or else they'll become easy prey for the hungry wolves.
