Impaled by golf club! Arkansas State student Natalie Eaton in freak accident at Kappa Alpha party

An Arkansas State University freshman was impaled by a golf club at a Kappa Alpha Fraternity House cookout on Thursday. Natalie Eaton, a freshman at ASU, was at a cookout at a “rush” party at a frat house when the tragedy occurred.

A 19-year-old bro tossed a football to a 20-year-old bro who used a golf club like a baseball bat. When the club hit the football, the shaft snapped and the broken end went soaring. The separated shaft flew about 30 feet and impaled Eaton in the neck. The broken golf club nicked an artery and hit her spinal cord, paralysing Eaton.

Two men held Eaton’s head steady and applied pressure to the wound until paramedics arrived. She was taken to a Jonesboro hospital before being flown to a trauma center in Memphis.

Doctors were able to remove the broken club. Her friend Makaleigh Riddle told KFVS News that Eaton was able to make little movements with the left side of her body just one day after the freak accident.
