Self defense: woman with a gun shoots stalker as he kicks in her door

A Las Vegas woman shot her stalker in the chest early last Friday morning after he kicked down her back door.
The woman had been living in fear for over six months and started carrying a gun with her everywhere she went. For the past month, she had started propping a chair up against her front door a night when she slept.
The victim posted to Reddit a few weeks ago saying she dated a man for a month, but then he started stalking her. She said it started with about 40-45 phones calls and 50 texts a day. He would show up at her place at 5 a.m. He made multiple threats against her life.
She was forced to move, obtain a restraining order and acquired a license to carry a concealed weapon.
Last Friday however, the stalker took things to the next level.
The shooting occurred near the area of South Durango Drive and Tropicana Avenue around 1 a.m., said Lieutenant Eric Lloyd of the Las Vegas Metro police.
Authorities said the woman fired twice at the stalker, 22-year-old Douglas Eugene Jackson, once he gained entrance to her residence by kicking in the front door, hitting him once in the chest.
Jackson then fled the scene and attempted to hide in some nearby bushes. Police dogs quickly found the suspect. Jackson was taken to University Medical Center of Southern Nevada where he was treated for injuries. He now faces charges of home invasion and aggravated stalking.
