France anti-Semitic knife attack: suspect wielding Machete-like blade attacks soldiers

A former criminal, identified as Moussa Coulibaly, has been detained in France after attacking three French soldiers as they were guarding a Jewish Community Center in Nice.
Coulibaly, who was recently turned away from Turkey after arriving with a one-way ticket, reportedly attacked the three soldiers with a 20-cm knife he had inside his bag.
Authorities later confirmed the suspect was carrying two knives at the time of the attack.
Coulibaly reportedly attacked one soldier, injuring him in the chin, and turned on the other two when they tried to step in. He cut one soldier’s arm and the other’s cheek.
On January 28, Coulibaly was turned away from Turkey after French counterterrorism agencies flagged him. When he returned, however, authorities did not have enough evidence to bring a terrorism case against him.
The suspect had been convicted six times before Tuesday’s attack, reports the Associated Press.
A possible accomplice to Coulibaly was also detained Tuesday.
