Mississippi Walmart shooting: Tishomingo man dies after Iuka police chase him into store

A man was killed after an exchange of gunfire with police inside a Walmart store in Iuka, Mississippi on Sunday.

Two Iuka police officers were chasing a man in a vehicle when he got out of his car and ran into Walmart at around 6 p.m., local ABC affiliate WAPT reported, citing Iuka authorities. The man shot at the officers inside the store and they returned fire, killing him.

Mississippi Bureau of Investigations spokesperson Warren Strain identified the suspect as Howard Brent Means, Jr., 34, of Tishomingo.

One officer suffered minor injuries after he was grazed by a bullet. He was treated and released from a hospital.
