Japanese Man Dead After Shark Bites Off Legs

On Monday, a Japanese man in Australia was killed as a result of a shark attack. 41-year-old Tadashi Nakahara had been surfing on Shelley Beach in New South Wales at the time of the incident.

Reportedly, he was sitting on his surf board about 30 or so feet away from the shore when the shark approached him and bit his legs. The victim lost both his legs and two surfers carried him to the shore but nothing could be done to save him.

Cameron Lindsay, New South Wales' State Police Detective Inspector stated, "We believe he was surfing with up to four men. Two of the surfers rendered assistance but unfortunately they were unable to stop the bleeding. It would appear he died of blood loss."
