Philadelphia police have launched an investigation into the case of a missing woman, 22-year-old Carlesha Freeland-Gaither.

The department has released disturbing surveillance footage showing Freeland-Gaither's abduction. A car is seen driving down a street and pulling up to the curb.

A short time later, the suspect excited his vehicle and approached the woman. Once he was close enough, the man grabbed Freeland-Gaither and dragged her down the street in view of the camera.

The two struggled outside the vehicle. A witness reported seeing the victim being forced into the car and hearing her screams for help.

Reportedly, the abductor was carrying a large knife at the time of the crime. He was able to shove her into the car. Freeland-Gaither’s glasses and cell phone were left lying in the road.

A $10,000 reward is now being offered in the search for the victim. Her aunt, Latesha Tucker-Felder commented “It was sickening and that’s the only thing you can say. It looks like that he even knew that she was coming around that corner because he parked his car and then went back for her.”

Police have released a description of the suspect and his vehicle. Detectives are searching for a 2000 to 2002 dark gray metallic 4-door Ford Taurus and a 25 to 30 year old black male who stands around 5’10″, tall and has a medium to heavy build.
