On Thursday night, 12 bar patrons in Ohio were left injured after a stolen truck crashed. At the time of the incident, police were pursuing the vehicle.

The truck had been stolen from Avon Lake shortly before 9 p.m. The pursuit was dramatic to say the very least.

The driver, later identified as 26-year-old Brandon Pawlak, dodged through traffic, weaved in and out of lanes, cut through a business parking lot and barreled over grassy terrain.

The entire time, police were right on his tail. The vehicle only came to a stop after driving over spike strips and plowing into the Dover Gardens Tavern in Westlake.

Cops ran out of their vehicles to approach the suspect. According to witnesses, Pawlak tried to escape the truck after the wreck but officers tackled him.

Westlake police say he has two active warrants from other jurisdictions and a suspended license. Pawlak was taken to the hospital for treatment after the crash.

The twelve other injured people had all been inside the bar. Their injuries range from minor to serious. A bartender reportedly encountered internal injuries.

Pawlak is facing a number of charges including aggravated vehicular assault. Another man, Matthew Sowden, is also in trouble for his part in allegedly stealing the truck.
