Hills Bandit police chase crash sends tomato truck flying into ditch
  • 9 years ago
On Thursday, a 90 minutes police chase ended when a bank robber flew his tomato truck off an embankment in San Bernadino, California, then rolled over on his side. The driver was identified as 53-year-old Stephen Richard Bartlett, better known as the Hills Bandit. He is a suspect in nine bank robberies.

Police started chasing him after he made off with $12,000 in metal construction supplies. They were on his tail but he escaped up a highway off-ramp and took police for a 90 minute joyride through oncoming traffic.

After swiping a bridge pylon he does an impression of a flying pig and winds up on his side in a ditch. Then he climbed out the passenger side window, but apparently wasn’t in the mood to continue the chase on foot. Lets wish him good luck finding a prison gang with senior citizens benefits!
