Baghdad blasts kill at least 30

At least 30 have died after three bombs exploded in Shi'ite parts of Baghdad.

It's the latest wave of attacks targeting Iraq's main religious group.

The largest Shi'ite neighbourhood in the capital was hit by two explosions.

Another bomb in western Baghdad went off at the main checkpoint.

Residents are frustrated at the endless violence.

(SOUNDBITE)(Arabic) UNIDENTIFIED RESIDENT OF AREA, SAYING:

"Kahdimiya is being rocked by blasts almost daily and with every blast there is a traffic jam and so on. There is no solution and no end to this situation. The situation is almost like this: a blast happens and 50 people are killed and two days later a similar blast takes place, and so on. We have been living like this for the past 11 years and nothing has changed. We want a solution."

No one has claimed responsibility for the bombings, but the Shi'ite government has been fighting Islamic State militants.
