Planning Commission, the 64-year-old institution that held great sway over policy formulation and economic planning, is set to become history, and will be replaced by a new institution of creative thinking. People with knowledge of government plans said the Commission could be replaced by a think tank. Shiv Sena leader Suresh Prabhu is widely expected to head the new panel that is likely to include economist Bibek Debroy.
