Ukraine, rebels argue over crash site

They're working tirelessly in a rebel-held territory of Eastern Ukraine.

Emergency workers face the grueling task of collecting bodies.

The charred remains of a Malaysian Airliner lie scattered across a corn field.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) MALAYSIAN TRANSPORT MINISTER LIOW TIONG LAI SAYING:

"The world has a moral obligation to ensure that the remains of all victims are recovered and treated with respect. We will play our part in fulfilling this obligation."

Ukraine is accusing Russia and pro-Moscow rebels of destroying evidence from the wreckage.

The Malaysian Transport Minister is worried the crash site may not be secure, but says Russia is helping to ensure safety at the site.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) MALAYSIAN TRANSPORT MINISTER LIOW TIONG LAI SAYING:

"Any action that prevents us from learning the truth about what happened to MH17 cannot be tolerated. Failure to stop such interference would be a betrayal of the lives that we lost."
