Dunya News - PM Nawaz announces Rs15 bn for Green Line Bus project in Karachi

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday announced Rs15 billion for the Bus Rapid Tansit (BRT) system in the metropolis.
The federal government will construct the project – to be called Green Line – without any delay, he said.
PM Nawaz said that share of the Sindh and Karachi City government will be borne by the federal government.
He said the government was fully aware of the transport problems of Karachi and said the rapid bus system will bring about a revolution in the transportation system for the residents of Karachi, who will be getting a fast and affordable service.
During his visit, the Prime Minister also held a meeting with a representative delegation of heads of political parties, business community and civil society.
Earlier, Chief Secretary Sindh and Director General Pakistan Rangers Sindh briefed the premier about the tongoing targeted operation in Karachi.
