Andrew Rector, who was caught on camera napping during a Yankees-Red Sox game, is suing for 10 million dollars.

The filing names ESPN, the Yankees, Major League Baseball, and the announcers who offered commentary on the image as being those who wronged the sleepy fan.

The suit claims that ESPN’s Dan Schulman and John Kruck started an ‘avalanche’ of negative and insulting commentary about Rector.

Among the insults the two are accused of are ‘fatty’ and ‘stupid’.

Rector, via the papers filed, asserts that the public shaming has caused a blow to his reputation and his future financial prospects have been hindered.

The video of the incident in question has made its way to various Internet outlets, where it’s received over 500 thousand views on YouTube alone.

In it, however, the announcers don’t make disparaging comments about Rector to the level he claims.

While they do call him out for snoozing during some exciting game moments and comment about his weight, the harsh, debilitating insults Rector alleges don’t appear to have been given.

Rector’s lawyer said the matter will be sorted out in court.
