It’s far from his greatest crime, but Adolf Hitler has been exposed as potentially being a big time tax dodger.

Makers of the documentary ‘The Hunt for Hitler’s Missing Millions’ uncovered evidence that strongly suggests the dictator skipped out on tax bills amounting to millions.

They reason that given Hitler’s numerous money-making schemes, he was likely in arrears to Germany by the late 1930s for the equivalent of 3 million dollars today.

One of his questionable income sources was the copyrighting of his image. As he was featured on the country’s postage, he got a cut every time somebody used a stamp with his face on it.

Another big source of cash was his royalty allotment from ‘Mein Kampf’, a book that, for a time, every German couple received on their wedding day.

Hitler also most likely lied about his income and overall financial worth.

At the time of his death, his fortune was believed to be what amounts to 850 thousand dollars in today’s money.

In reality, it was likely in the billions and stashed in a number of hiding places.

Said one commenter in the film, “He felt paying taxes was beneath him.”
