Fashion Rio wraps day two of Summer 2015 showcases

Day two of the 25th edition of Fashion Rio was a bursting exhibition of varied styles on Wednesday (April 9) as local designers pulling inspiration from all over the world - present and future - showcased their unique visions for Summer 2015.

Maria Filo's bold and sophisticated line of light, geometric textures and knitting was said to be inspired from outdoor markets from around the globe.

After the show, Silvia da Costa said she saw something she was unaccustomed to.

"It had a lot of really interesting things, the prints, the light look of the clothes. It was very different," Costa said.

Local label Espaco Fashion also took to the runway with its new techno-kitsch line of eye-popping pinks, oranges, greens and blues.

The new line's playfulness, with slung purses and hats, was reminiscent of Chanel haute couture.
