Fashion Rio kicks off its 25th edition

STORY: As usual Fashion Rio opened in a stylish burst of radiant color when some of Brazil's biggest designers began showing off their most recent creations on Tuesday (April 8).

Four labels in all showcased their new 2015 Summer collections at the 25th edition of Rio de Janeiro's premiere fashion event.

This year's theme is meant to be a blend of all things related to rivers, tropical resorts, world heritage, and cultural landscapes.

Designer Patricia Viera opened this latest edition of Fashion Rio's four-day event with some decidedly sleek and glamorous designs.

Oddly enough Viera, who is always prone to creative collaboration, decided to incorporate into some of her designs crochet and knit work done by inmates serving time in a prison in the city of Espirito Santo.
