A suicide blast near a house in the Pakistani city of Peshawar on Monday (February 10) killed four women and wounded three others, including a child.

According to police sources, a police team, upon receiving information about the presence of "suspicious persons" in the vicinity, was conducting a raid in the area when a suicide bomber blew himself up outside a house.

Some police sources claimed the suicide bomber was actually taking refuge in a house in the vicinity. Others said it could have been an attempted attack on mourners attending funeral prayers.

Security forces and police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation in which two suspects were immediately arrested.
