Protester death reignites Thai demos

A death amidst anti-government protests in Bangkok reignighted demonstrations in the Thai capital Saturday.

Demonstrators are calling for justice after a 46-year-old man died from his injuries following a blast during protests a day earlier.

Anti-government protesters stormed police headquarters, prompting armed officers to stand guard.

The demonstrations want Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to step down, and have staged days of marches and protests this week, blocking traffic and bringing government officies to a standstill.

Protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban has blamed Shinawatra's government for Friday's bombing and has said the incident would not dent the morale of demonstrators.

The incident is the first real act of violence in an otherwise calm and peaceful protest.

It's not clear if the Royal Thai Army, who held a military parade to mark Armed Forces Day on Saturday, will be called to end the protests.
