Chris Brown rejects plea deal

R&B singer Chris Brown and his bodyguard Chris Hollosy rejected a plea deal for one count of simple assault during a hearing in which the men are accused of hitting a man outside a Washington D.C., hotel.

Brown's attorneys say the singer rejected the deal because he is not guilty.

A police report says the incident happened after a man attempted to photo bomb a picture with two female fans.

Brown has been on probation since 2009 after assaulting his then girlfriend Rihanna.

His probation was revoked in 2013 after he was charged in a hit-and-run traffic accident in Los Angeles, but reinstated after he agreed to another 1,000 hours of community service.

If convicted, the Grammy-winner faces up to 180 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.
