Clashes erupt after West Bank funerals

Clashes erupt in the West Bank as Israeli troops use rubber bullets and tear gas to block Palestinian stones.

The violence comes after Israeli security officials said their forces killed three Palestinian militants Tuesday.

Israel says they were part of an al Qaeda-linked network.

The Palestinian Authority denies the three had any relation to al Qaeda and accused Israel of setting out to kill the men.

Al Qaeda-inspired groups have a small presence in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, but are less common in the occupied West Bank, which is policed by Israeli and Palestinian Authority forces.

Earlier, funeral services were held for the three men.

Thousands of mourners filled the streets.

Israel said two of the men were killed when they opened fire on officers trying to arrest them. Officials said a number of explosive devices and two guns were found in their vehicle.
