Limo fire kills five women on San Mateo Bridge

A new bride and four friends died when a limousine that caught fire while crossing a bridge in the San Francisco Bay Area Saturday night.

Nine women, including the 31-year-old bride, Neriza Fojas, were heading to a hotel in Foster City from Oakland for a bridal party. They were crossing the San Mateo-Hayward bridge at about 10pm when smoke started coming out of the back of the white Lincoln Town Car limo. Huge flames followed. Reports say the driver pulled over and got out to try and help the women, but only four were able to escape.
