Syrian rebels fighting for control of an arms depot in Homs.

New amatuer video appears to show the rebels firing at government forces.

Moments later, the rebels enter the depot where they discover boxes filled with weapons.

Reuters cannot independently verify the video, which was obtained from a social media website.

The fighting comes as U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry visits Jordan to discuss the latest regional developments.

There he told journalists that the push for Syrian peace talks is making progress.

"I am confident that somewhere in the next days, a date is going to be set and whether it's a week later or seven days, eight days or whatever it is, two weeks later, it's going to give people time to prepare."

Jordan is home to almost 600,000 Syrian refugees.
