The two-year-old revolt against President Bashar- al Assad began with peaceful protests but descended into civil war claiming the lives of more than 70,000 people.

On Friday the Turkish military released footage of a weapons stockpile near the border with Syria.

Turkey is a staunch supporter of the uprising against -Assad. So far it has ruled out arming rebels, fearing it could be drawn into a regional conflict.
