The Bourbons were formed in late 2011, joining old friends around a common
Wish to play Rock Music!
The Circle begun to be completed when Nelson Fontes, the Lead Singer, challenged
Tiago Marques to compose a song for a video soundtrack desired by Nelson at the time.
The idea worked out and, they decided to add more musicians to the project, asking
Gilberto Ferreira, the bass player, who said yes immediately, and later in a few days,
Alex Santos came aboard this musical adventure!
The ideas developed rapidly around the initial concept of playing Rock music inspired on
The Classics bands of the decades from 70´s to 90´s, and soon they finished what will became
Their first Album named “Best Amazing Reasons” released by STF-Records in October first 2012.
Joining the initial letters of that title (B.A.R), obviously we understand that most of the lyrics in this Album, will speak about nightlife and experiences of the band members in this environment.
Naming the band, it was a matter of thinking, about what brought them together and what tastes and preferences they had, beyond the rock music. The idea "The Bourbons" emerged inspired by a good old whiskey!
Creativity has continued and the band has been directed in finding their own style, without ever leaving the Rock influences.
New songs have been composed to have an identity that the band desires in the future, to be recognized with their own brand and that is the way the band stands and works for.
The band believes in the power of the live music and that it is the best way of listen to it,
The band believes in the power of live music and that's the best way to hear the songs, because that is the form that most resembles the moment of his own creation.
For “The Bourbons”, Music is timeless, representing a truth in a universe created by those who dares to dive into and let themselves appreciate it!
