Stop the Presses

Stop the Presses is the brain child of husband and wife duo Ali Culotta and Danny Portilla. Their story begins like most bands, through a myspace ad seeking a lead signer for a band that would eventually end… In 2010 their musical union would hatch the egg named Stop the Presses. They released their first EP “Does it Still Look Pretty” in 2011. After years of touring all over Florida, releasing their second album “Eskandalo” in 2013, and playing at the Vans Warped Tour (California dates) in 2014, the two Florida natives packed up their van and relocated to Brooklyn, NY.

In 2018, Stop the Presses made their long awaited return at the Van’s Warped Tour in Holmdel, NJ gaining them recognition in the North East ska scene. A year later they released “Money in the Bank” co-produced by Agent Jay of The Slackers, and went on a US national tour with 'reggae-core' legends The Pilfers.

Stop the Presses is now playing shows all across the US. Their sound can be defined as a little bit two-tone, a little bit new wave, and a little bit traditional ska.
