The Münster Zeppelin Day with the landing of the LZ 130 - GRAF ZEPPELIN II at the Münster-Handorf airfield on July 23, 1939 was actually a stopover on the landing run to Bielefeld.
On the evening of July 22, 1939, the airship took off at 8:52 p.m. from the Rhein-Main airport and airship port and completed a 1,579 km journey in 20:31 hours, landing in Bielefeld at 5:23 p.m. the following day.
The airship took off again in Bielefeld at 5:40 p.m. and traveled 65 km in 0:57 hours to Münster, only to land there at 6:37 p.m.
The airship took off again at 18:51 for the return journey to the Rhein-Main Airport and Airship Port.
