Video purports to show Syrian rebel biting organ of dead soldier

New images from the Syrian battlefield seem to suggest a level of gruesomeness far beyond what some of the country's fiercest critics could have imagined.
The video, posted to the internet purports to show a rebel commander cutting into the torso of a dead soldier and taking a bite of one of his organs. Reuters cannot independently verify the content of the video which was posted to a social media website.
Tamara Alrifa of Human Rights Watch has identified the commander as Abu Saffar, founder of the Farouq brigade.

And the reasons we're sure this is him is that we've compared this footage to other footage we've had, and we managed to recognize some of his clothes, but also a ring that he's wearing and the scar under his left eye, so we're in no doubt about the person.
Human Rights Watch condemned the brutality of the video on Tuesday as did Washington.
