Dogs and humans rely on one another for love and comfort.

Recently, an 80-year-old New Zealander, Geoffrey Hanson got lost outdoors while walking his 2-year-old small pooch named Rusty.
As the hours passed and day turned into night, his concerned wife called police to report him missing. Immediately a search was conducted and Hanson emerged on his own the next day, walking out from sand dunes in a forest.

He was taken to a hospital and medical staff believed he had developed hypothermia.

According to Hanson, his beloved dog Rusty had snuggled with him all night, keeping him warm and potentially saving his life.

Last year, a 10-year-old boy with Down Syndrome in Alabama was reported missing. The next morning, a male searcher discovered the young male in a creek in the woods with four puppies surrounding him.
The rescuer stated "Those puppies kept him company, they kept him warm and comfortable." Police believed that the child had followed a female dog and her puppies into the woods.
