February of this year at Brussels Airport -- Belgian security scramble to secure the area and find clues after one of the biggest jewellery robberies in history.

Over 50 million U.S. dollars worth of diamonds were stolen while being loading onto a plane.

On Wednesday, Belgian prosecutors announced that police had detained 31 people over the heist, after coordinated raids in Belgium, France and Switzerland

The Belgian prosecutor's office spokesman said 250 police officers were involved in his country's operation and conducted searches in 40 locations.

Authorities said that diamonds had been seized in Switzerland, while cash and luxury cars were recovered in Belgium.

On February 18th, the eight member gang dressed as police and armed with machine guns cut through the airport fence and drove to where unarmed staff where loading the diamonds into the plane.

They managed to steal the diamonds without firing a single shot.
