Bahrain's government has told Al Jazeera that anti-Grand Prix protesters are terrorists backed by Hezbollah.
Tear gas was fired at demonstrators outside the capital Manama during Sunday's Formula One Grand Prix.
Plumes of smoke could be seen in the sky and two school children were injured.
The race itself ended without interruption.
